The night before, an Aerodactyl carrying the Ex-Sailor & his First Mate came in at a relatively high speed. Landing near a Inn. . . they eventually spent the night there after such an exhausting day spent flirting with adventure. Yet none of it had been done flirting with eachother. Truth be told niether one likely woke up until the afternoon of the next day. Each one kept to their own bed during the night so far as the Ocean-haired young man knew anyway. All night, his newly caught Shinx had kept watch over the group once everyone fell asleep. Escaping from the pokeball rather easily, he sat on the bed awake until it was nearly dawn before finally passing out. Once out of comission the yellow star on his tail lit up like a night light which kept the room bathed in a soft yellow light. Captain was his name. . . Tregad dubbing him so after the little guy's late evening visit to the local Pokemon center. Definately a sea-worthy name brought on from Okeanos' oceanic past. Yet the Pokemon center did not change the fact that food needed to fuel the bellies of all living creatures at one point or another. Rumbling bellies would not let themselves lay for very long on an empty tank. As a result, around 2pm in the afternoon the Captain decided that he would wake up the entire crew. "Shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinx!! Shinx! Shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinnnnnx! Shhhhhinnnx!" Tregad: !!! "BATTLE STATIONS! Red alert, red alert! Port side is close to the shore! Incoming shots fired across the bow!" He yelled in slight fear at the sound which came out of Captain more like an alarm siren than just a cry for food. More than anything it sounded like the Shinx's cries had influenced his dream, turning it into a nightmare of some sort. But why would a sound like that trigger memories in an Ex-Sailor? Especially ones linked to such a serious emotion. . . unless he possessed some ghosts of the past that he kept hidden. Waking up in a cold sweat didn't make him feel any better about it as he looked over to see a frightened looking Shinx. Quickly the pokemon came over to nuzzle him. "Shiiiiinx . . . shi shi." "You wiley Captain you. . . waking me up like that."For something that seemed so serious moments ago, he had covered it up rather quickly. Masking whatever it was underneath his usual demeanor of manliness while looking at his newest Pokemon. He turned on the television in the room quickly, trying to give himself a cover story before anyone realized what had actually happened. Just what did Shinx want? It would have continued for some time with him not understanding what the Flash pokemon wanted, if a rumbly in the tumbly did not greet him so harshly. He nodded in agreement to the notion of food while clenching his jaw for a few seconds. A long lapse in between their last meals must have brought this on for certain. The last time they'd eaten was in a local restaurant last night. Just before oming to the Inn they'd stopped off to get some food to go for everyone. Food boxes scattered around the room helped give solid facts to that theory. Not to mention the fact that they were all empty explained exactly why the Shinx was so hungry right now. Just about everyone slept longer than twelve hours. . . ven though they probably needed it to recouperate. Standing up quickly after speaking to the Captain, he threw off the covers to reveal he still wore his black pants with the unique white belt. Right now he tried to look as though he had been awake for hours to further discredit any idea that it was him who yelled just moments earlier. Questions about why would never put him in a good mood or ever solve any problems. Okeanos tried to find his backpack, looking to see how much money they would have for breakfast. However it honestly was much closer to lunch time. A slightly late-lunch at that.

In the adjoining room the Lightning Lass and Pikachu awoke with a start at Captain's siren-like howl. But what made Blitz throw off the covers and go to the door was Tregad's shouting. Although his words made no sense, they worried her. He sounded scared. By the time she got to the door and came into his room, however, the TV was on and he was casually talking to his Pokémon. Jade green eyes searched the room and saw nothing of distress other than the clutter of empty take-out boxes. For a moment she thought maybe it was the TV, but then she noticed that his face was salty wet. The ex-sailor must have had a nightmare or some kind.
She leaned against the door frame, looking no where near her best. Her long blonde hair was frizzy with bedhead and while Tregad was still in his pants (*cough*), Blitz was wearing old Pikachu PJ's. "Are you--?" She started to ask if he was alright, then thought better of it. If he'd gone to all the trouble of trying to cover it up, he obviously didn't want to talk about it. He seemed to be looking for something. Maybe he would assume her break was her waiting for him to turn around."Are you going to challenge the Gym Leader today?"
Meanwhile, her companion walked up to the Flash Pokémon. "Pika pi chu?" ("Is everything okay?") it asked, tilting its head to the side.

Tregad looked over to see a PJ'd Blitz looking at him, thinking that his plan had not worked for a moment. But then she asked about challenging the Gym Leader which let him believe that for now she might just think it was the television. Wipping the sweat from his face casually, the Ex-Sailor put on a warm smile for the girl. He tried to make it seem like the room was really warm through his body language. . . to explain away the sweat.
"Sure as a Gyarados' temper I'm going to today. But I need to get some food in my belly first. After yesterday I'm still starving even after that dinner we had last night. Wanna go to lunch with the manliest Trainer in town?"
Sniffing the air he then cracked his neck to both sides with a wry smile.
". . .That is, after I take a shower of course. Smelling like the sea is one thing, but I'm not going to walk around like I'm wearing cologne du Chum. This room must have been really hot last night. . ."
Okeanos sighed before walking toward the bathroom, Shinx not answering her Pikachu at all yet. Prbably just waiting for his master to leave the room, or just not spilling the beans at all out of loyalty. It left her alone in the room with Captain along with all of his belongings. The Ex-sailor really must have trusted her to do that, if he had any personal tems with him. Momentos from his past that she knew so little about or something like that. Each of his Pokemon were put away except for the couragous Captain.
Sounds of water running came through the partially closed door. He had pulled it 'closed' but not shut.

"Sure, Tregad," she replied as he turned away. "Pikachu, let's get ready too."
The Mouse Pokémon happily exclaimed its name and bounded back into their room. Before she turned to leave, Blitz looked to the bathroom door and noticed that it was partially open. A very naughty thought crossed her mind and went so far as to cause her to make a tiny motion toward the bathroom door. Reality snapped her back, though, and she stopped. Not only was it wrong in so many ways, but his Pokémon was still in the room and would see her. Despite the fact she probably wouldn't have done it anyway, the Lightning Lass cursed in her head and went back into the other room.
What were you thinking? she asked herself as she undressed and started her own shower. Blitz faced the warm water and shook her head vigorously. You've gotta get thoughts like that out of your head, girl. She sighed and finished getting ready while pushing her earlier temptation to the side.
Once Blitz's hygene activities were finished and she was dressed properly, she went to the door that separated the two rooms. It was closed just like Tregad's bathroom door had been, leaving a crack of space between the frame and the door. The girl now peaked through that opening to see if he was out of the bathroom among other things.

It was nice to take a shower, since the constant spray of water brought back fond memories of the open sea. When he could face down adventure in the form of storms or unruly wild sea-Pokemon. Salty sea water spraying him in the face while staring up at black clouds or the raging maw of a Gyarados really helped make his days in the past. But most of that rested behind him now in one sense, despite the fact he continued to behave like a random stranger that would challenge Ash to battle aboard the S.S. Anne.
Once he finished bathing, the Ex-Sailor walked out of the bathroom wearing naught but a tightly wrapped towel around his waist. His dirty pants were still in the bathroom, not to get worn again until they were washed at some point. After all, he had worn the dolphin thing since he met Blitz just a few days ago. It had come for the time to put on clean clothes. Moving toward his bag, Tregad pulled out a pair of pants before dropping the towel & then quickly putting them on.
Little did he know an eye might be peeking at him.
Picking up a pokeball, he started heading back into the bathroom, he turned the knob so that the bathtub started filling up with water again. Why though? Considering the bathroom door was wide open this time it became rather obvious within a few moments.
"Alright Carvahna, go for a little swim while I brush mah teeth."
Splashing sounds began as the Savage Pokemon got a chance to fnallly run some water through his gills & use his fins. Getting couped up in that pokeball for so long was honestly worse than a live well. Which is why the bathtub was a pleasant temporary alternative. Along with his other pokemon this one had become hungry as well for somthing to devour with those dangerous jaws. Perhaps he had really ben released to guard Tregad in case anyone managed to slip by Captain.
Meanwhile, dental hygeine occured!

Blitz's eyes widened as she watched Tregad walk out of the bathroom in nothing but his towel. With anyone else she would have looked away immediately. But Tregad's glistening muscular body was too much for the teenager to resist. She was so out of tune with anything else that she didn't realize he was about to drop that towel. Blitz: ;; *gulp* *mega blush* Even though he had put his pants on rather swiftly, the Lightning Lass had seen enough of Tregad's... equiptment... to never look at him the same way again. No longer would there be any wondering. She knew. Having seen what she just saw, Blitz blinked but otherwise found herself frozen. Pikachu walked up to her thinking that something was wrong. "Pika?""Shhh!" she hissed. The water in Tregad's bathroom was running, so he wouldn't hear them. But Blitz wasn't taking any chances of Captain catching her. "Alright Carvanha, go for a little swim while I brush mah teeth."Well that explained why he was running the bath. And also discouraged the girl from going any where near there. Instead, she casually opened the door as if she just got ready and sat down on a chair in his room. She also did not make eye contact with the Flash Pokémon. To keep herself occupied and distract her from certain thoughts, Blitz gathered and threw away the food boxes.

Brushing his teeth, the Sailor actually took ten mnutes rather than the reccomended two. Why? He had skipped out on in these last few days for one reason or another which meant he needed to make up for lost time. After all as manly as he was didn't mean he need horrid teeth or chum breath. Eventually he finished the task, walking out into his room to find Blitz sitting there waiting for him patiently.
Going about to pick up various items he wanted to take with him, he then finally stopped by the blonde. Especiallly gathering up Carvahna into the Pokeball to prevent any wanton destruction in the search for food.
"Alright! Lets go get these guys fed!"

As Blitz waited for the ex-sailor to finish in the bathroom, she continued to avert her gaze from the little Shinx. When Tregad came out, her jade eyes tried to focus on anything in the room other than him. This was her best attempt at acting normal. But she knew it just looked utterly suspicious. What was she supposed to do, then? A single glance in his direction might bombard her with unnecessary imagery.
Okay, enough! Stop thinking about it! she yelled in her head while shaking it from side to side. Maybe the violent movement would physically force the memory out one of her ears. Of course she did this while he was turned away and gathering his various items.
There was no choice but to look at him when he walked right up to her, ready to go. And surprisingly she was okay. The Trainer blinked a few times as she gazed into his amiable smile. No censor-worthy pictures popped into her head. Only warm memories of their adventures together. Well, that was good. It would have been really awkward to go around with him from now on acting like she had been these past dozen minutes.
"Great idea," she said with a smile and a nod. Her Pikachu then jumped up onto the girl's shoulder and said its name twice. The poor Mouse Pokémon was just as hungry as everyone else.
As the group headed out of the room, Blitz decided to tell Tregad what she knew about his next Gym battle. "Remember how I said that my mentor was Volkner, the Sunyshore Gym Leader? Well, they tend to gather together every once in a while and trade information, training methods, whatever. L'anyhoodle, Volkner once told me that the Eterna Gym Leader is a Poison-type Trainer named Near. He also said that this Near guy is pretty intense, even by Gym Leader standards."

Everything looked ready to go, save for the presence of Captain inhabiting his own pokeball. Tregad definately need to bring that little Shinx along since he had no real intention of stopping back at the hotel room along the way to the gym after their breakfast. But then Blitz's words caught his competitor's interest. . . letting what few wheels there were in his head turn a couple of rotations before speaking again.
"Poison-type ehy? Is that so? Sounds like this Gym Leader's gone n' set himself up as the big cahuna in this reef. Of course that doesn't mean it's true since nt everyone lives up to their reputation. EVEN THE LEGENDARY TREGAD."
A chuckle came from him as he picked up Shinx's Pokeball, thinking about what words were said about him in the past. Nodding toward the Flash pokemon, he signaled that Captain could follow him outside of the pokeball for right now. Later on it would be Commander's turn for some freedom.
"Rumors went around once that I could breathe underwater, so yeah. . . had to stop the liez before a mad scientist created some mutant Pokemon to try taking me out."
All the while he spoke, Tregad seemed sure of himself against this Gym Leader who he had never met. However he probably felt that Poison-types were not a huge threat against Pokemon who were strong enough to fight through the condition. If anyone had faith like that in their Pokemon's manliness it definately fell into Okeanos territory.

"Breathe underwater?" she echoed with one eyebrow raised. "How on earth did a rumor as silly as that get started?" The Lightning Lass rolled her eyes. It had become apparent in the short time that she'd known Tregad that he was a man of hidden talent. But seriously, how could even the most drunken sailor guys he might have hung out with possibly think that?
Although her friend seemed quite confident in his chances against the Gym Leader, Blitz decided to offer him some more help. "Hey, Trey? Would you like to borrow Romeo for your Gym match? He is part Steel-type and that makes him immune to Poison-type moves. It would definitely come in handy." She said her last sentence in a sing-song voice. The Lightning Lass then gave him a friendly smile. "Of course that means you'd have to trade me one of your Pokémon in return. Temporarily. Personally I would suggest trading your Scyther since he doesn't really have any moves that would help you in this battle."

Apparently she had never heard of him before they met.
"It's a long story."
But that was probably for the best, while they were still relatively considered strangers. He felt they were friends alright but that didn't mean she needed to hear every sorry detail about his past. Just old tales that took obnoxious amounts of booze for anyone to start telling them freely. Perhaps another day in the future she might fnd out more about his days out on the open seas & big blue oceans.
"The Magnemite ehy?"
Stroking an imaginary beard that would have belonged to a notorious pirate captain named Bluebeard, he considered it for a few moments. A pokemon that wouldn't be in danger of getting poisoned? Definately an appealing option to have a fighter immune to someone who specialized in that specific type. But if this Gym Leader lived up to his reputation, those Pokemon would know moves to hurt steel-types. Still the pospect felt daring enough to warrant testing it out at least once. Plus if it failed he still had five strong & manly Pokemon!
"If this guy is really worth his salt, he'll have a defense against that weakness. Scyther is really a good veteran fighter too. Still. . . Scyther never really listened to me before. . . so you're probably right on course."
Pulling the apropriate Pokeball from his waist, Tregad let Scyther out of it to at least give the rebel a choice. Their relationship had strains from the Bug-type's personal hatred toward humans who used Eterna forrest to gain new Pokemon. Guys like his current Trainer. If he made an attempt at gaining trust, the Scyther might not disobey orders to the extent it went to right now. Not to mention if Okeanos got the badge he would gain control over allof his Pokemon again until level 30. Which as it stood. . . wasn't that far off for most of his roster.
"Scy, scyther?"
"I'm going to challenge the Gym Leader in Eterna today Scyther. He uses Poison-types from what I've heard. Feel like sitting out on this voyage & guarding Blitz instead? Let a young punk get poisoned instead of a veteran like you. It'll only be until the match is over."
"Scyth scy ther ther scyth scyther."
Basically, a long no.
"Sorry Blitz, sounds like you don't get a temporary bodyguard. Scyther, return!"

Once again Blitz decided not to prod and Blitz let the subject of his past go.
When she'd been rejected by the Mantis Pokémon, the Lightning Lass let out a sigh. "Alright. Just thought I'd make the offer." She managed a smile. "Good luck on your Gym battle. Though with your skizzles, I'm sure you'll do great even without a type advantage." Her smile became more genuine and she giggled.
She welcomed the warmth of sunlight on her skin as the small group exited the inn and began their trek to the local restaurant.

Before leaving, Tregad made sure all of his pokemon were put away in their pokeballs. All except for Commander & Captain since they were the best behaved out of the crew. Every step of the way there his two furry friends were walking on his left or right side. Keeping them out allowed for a good stretch along with no cramping.
Soon enough the entire group arrived at a local restaurant, hapily looking foreward to their breakfast. Once inside they found that the place looked a touch overbearing on the theme: organic meals. Every last item on the menu claimed to originate in some way from Eterna forrest or Floaroma to present the freshest foods with the best taste possible. Just for a taste of exotic cuisine. . . there was even a tank filled with still-living seafood for the lunch & dinner crowd. Tregad merely wondered if the whole deal meant he would have to finish killing whatever he ordered. Which in truth didn't even bother him since living out on the seas sometimes led to catching, cleaning, & then preparing one's own meal at certain times.
All of them were seated reasonably fast before a waitress brought the two trainers their menu. Captain & Commander nearly scuffled over the chance to pick their meals before the other one. Luckily the ordeal ended up resolved when Tregad threatened them with not getting a chance to fight in the Gym Battle. Humans took priority over their pokemon in getting to order. . . followed by the Pocket Monsters. Okeanos ordered a big stack of pancakes, Commander wanted a Cajun Omlette, Captain chose WAFFLES. But how did they pick? Putting a paw to the picture sufficed enough for a simple translation.
Meanwhile, Okeanos broke the rules in a way that would likely get him in quite a bit of trouble soon enough. Sneaking over to the large fishtank. . . he released his Carvahna inside to get his own breakfast. It might get paid later if the the staff realzed an obvious decline in the tank's population. Well, actually it would get paid eventually but the Ex-Sailor had no idea how much the Savage Pokemon might eat in there. So he decided it ould wait until the damage was completely done.

About five minutes was spent looking through the variety of natural foods they had to offer here. It was a difficult choice, but after Tregad had finished ordering, the Lightning Lass requested a cheese omelette for Pikachu and French toast for herself. With their orders written down, the waitress went off to turn them in.
Whilst he was putting his Pokémon into the restaurant's fish tank, Blitz kept a watchful eye out for employees that might catch him. The whole thing made her laugh quitely to herself.

Considering they were all starving from the incredible amount of time between meals, all of Tregad's pokemon ate quickly. Just like their master who appeared a master at vacuuming in food. Trace Archon might have possessed a Jolteon-like speed, but Tregad Okeanos had the precision of a Carvahna when it came to scarfing down food. A plate covered with a stack of seven pancakes vanished within a few minutes. Five minutes tops.
But where did he learn to eat in such a fierce manner?
Living out on the high seas meant dealing with all sorts of dangers. Quite a few occured during meals. One of them came down to the fact other Sailors might steal the plate from another' late if they could get away with the crime. Another fell under the mercy of the sea. . . if the waves would allow a man's plate to stay in one spot or go flying. Still other reasons existed, but they all worked together to re-enforce the behaviour of eating rather quickly just in case.
Captain & Commander were not far behind him at all. . . Carvahna tied him though. The tank now half-full.
