Rainbow let out a bit of a yelp when the teen who had been sleeping mere feet away from her suddenly yelled as he woke up from what must have been a nightmare. She put her hand to her heart and took a deep breath, looking away from him. More than likely he would be embarassed if he noticed she was staring, so she looked back out the window as if nothing had happened.
Her ear twitched when the Trainer begain to talk to her. Rainbow turned her head to face him once more. One of her eyebrows cocked up when he said he had been following March and herself. It did, indeed, sound weird. Until he explained, that is.
"Don't feel sorry Alistar," she replied with a small smile as she went up to shake his hand before sitting back on her couch. "It's not like you were stalking us. You just wanted some help. That's actually why I was with March in the first place. He needed help for his Pokémon too. Not to mention a place to stay. He's resting right now in one of the Trainers' quarters." She gestured with her thumb toward the hallway behind her.
"Anyway," she continued, "I'm glad that I inadvertantly helped you as well. Oh, and you can call me Rainbow."
Just then, the Chansey of cotton candy sweetness approached them with two bowls of warm apple cinnamon oatmeal. Multiple scents, sounds, and colors ran through her senses as Rainbow took one of the bowls. "Thank you," she said to the Pokémon.
March's voice caused Rainbow's head to whip to the right. She hadn't expected him to be up already. "Uh, yeah," the Trainer replied, putting her spoon back in the bowl. "We're Trainers." Her blue eyes looked up at him, sensing that he wasn't the hostile type. Helping him some more couldn't hurt. "And I'm sure we could help you out."

So far, the girl seemed very understanding of Alistar. After telling him that she was also helping March, (The trainer she was with before he guessed.) she told him her name was Rainbow. "Nice name." Alistar chuckled. " Let me just be the one to say who have a very fitting name." He grinned politely. As they conversed, a Chansey came over with two, delicious looking bowls of apple cinnamon oatmeals.
"Sweet." Alistar murmured. "Thanks much. He told the Chansey after taking the bowl. "Um... could I get some food for little Wurm here, he's a big eater, and he always gets cranky if he can't have his own bowl. The Chansey nodded, and walked away.
Alistar began gulping down the oatmeal at an outrageous pace. Within a matter of minutes, he finished his bowl. Chansey came back with a bowl of Pokemon feed. The smell alone awoken Wurm, and he jumped into the bowl as Chansey placed it on the floor near the couch. Alistar groaned, "This is why I never take you out to eat."
"Wurmple Wurm." Wurm cried in delight. As they continued to eat, it seemed March had waken up, and he approached Rainbow and Alistar. He had an awkward demeanor, with made sense since he was confused about what he was talking about. "So you wanna be a Pokemon trainer, huh?" Alistar turned to him. "I'll tell ya what, since you and Rainbow inadvertently helped me out earlier, I'll help ya out." Alistar rose up, and rose his hand like earlier, hoping for March to shake. "Names Alistar, you can call me whatever you like." He smirked.

Nick watched with some disgust as the boy tore into his food. Hoestly, some people had no decency. And apparently their pokemon didn't either, as he watched the caterpillar do the same. Nick didn't take the strangers offered hand. He didn't trust this other kid. But he did need his help. "Wait, how did we help you?"
"So...uhmm...where do we start?" Nick had about a million questions, but decided he would start with the basic stuff. "Where are all ypur pokemon? Don't Trainers carry them around?" Nick looked around. "Or is that one your only pokemon?" He nodded at the red caterpillar.

"It should be," she had replied with a smile to Alistar. "I gave it to myself. Not that my real name is all that bad. It's just, well," the teen gestured to all of herself, "this obsession of mine made it seem more fitting."
"We unintentionally led him here to the Pokémon Center," Rainbow explained to March as she scooted over. "Here, sit down. Training begins now."
After March inquired about their Pokémon, she stood up and unclipped one of her minimized Poké Balls from her belt. Only this one was camo-colored. Rainbow held out the slightly-bigger-than-a-large-marble-sized sphere in front of him and then clicked on the white dot in the ball's center, making it expand into normal size. "Most Trainers keep their Pokémon in Poké Balls," she told him. "Yet it isn't uncommon to see Trainers walking around with one or two Pokémon out, like I usually do."
"Haru! Come on out!" she commanded, lightly tossing her Nest Ball in the air. It immediately opened and a flash of light was released from it down onto the floor. The light took the shape of a fox-like Pokémon before fading to reveal an Eevee, and a Shiny one at that. Its silver fur sparkled for a few seconds before it dulled.
"Ee!" the Evolution Pokémon chirped in surprise when it found itself seemingly surrounded by strangers.
"You'll have to forgive him," Rainbow stated as she reached down and picked up the Eevee, which had gone to hiding behind her leg. "He's a bit shy. Haru, this is March and Alistar. We're going to be hanging out with them for a little while before we continue on to Eterna. Is that okay?"
The Normal-type nodded once at her and briefly looked at the two male Trainers with wide eyes before burying its face in her torso in a futile effort to hide from them.

"Heres your second lesson, young grasshopper." Alistar added. "Its not cool to be rude to a fellow trainer." March didn't seem very trusting or comfortable towards Alistar, reminded him of his father. Wurm didn't quite seem so fond of young March either. He probably thought Alistar was a thief and planned on mugging the two. "If you want me to help you, it would make things alot easier we get along."
Alistar turned to Wurm. "Yeah, thats my only Pokemon. He's also the only living friend I have." Wurm layed in the bowl he in which all the food was completely devoured by the young bug. Alistar lowered his head to the ground. He sat there with his thoughts as March continued his questions, and Rainbow continued her answers. He took a look at the timid Eevee. He chuckled. It was terrified of him. "It seems I'm going with these two." Alistar thought to himself. "I better keep my guard up, something tells me this March guy is gonna be keeping his eye on me."
"Wurmple...." Wurmple store at the three trainers. He wondered why Alistar was even associating with these two strangers. Wurm didn't quite agree with Alistar's choice, but he would always stay by his master until the very end. Hopefully the very end doesn't come from meeting these two.

Young? This kid isn't even old enough to see R-rated movies! Who the heck is he calling young!? Nick wondered, exasperated. Ignoring the look the kid was giving him, Nick turned to inspect the device the girl had used to call out the pokemon. It appeared to be a simple ball, colored green and brown. A small button in the middle proved to be he only oyjer feature. "So, is this a....pokeball? I read about them in my parents notes." You're supposed to hold pokemon in them, right?" Nick looked back to the hallway which led to the room that held the baby larvitar. He wondered if he would need to put it in a pokeball. Then another thought came to him. "Uhhh, where would I find one of those? You know, for the Larvitar?"

"He's right. It usually is beneficial to be friendly toward fellow Trainers. Usually." A small smirk curled on her lips.
"I think Haru has yet to learn that lesson. He thinks the world is out to get him. Though part of that could be due to his unusual coloring. It couldn't have been easy for him, growing up and being so different from everyone else..." Rainbow could not help but leak some of her own personal experience into that statement. She looked down at the trembling Shiny silver Eevee and kissed the top of its head. The sight of the Evolution Pokémon made Rainbow hear the calm babbling of a brook and smell fresh roses.
"Yeah," the Trainer replied, holding up the Nest Ball for March to see. "Unlike a standard Poké Ball with no additional bonuses, this is a Nest Ball. There are acually all kinds of different Poké Balls that are used to capture different types of Pokémon or used in different situations. Nest Balls like this one are good for capturing Pokémon that are at lower levels."
Rainbow watched as March's gaze traveled down the hallway where his Larvitar friend surely was. Before she opened her mouth to tell him about the Poké Mart down the street, she stopped and thought about showing him another kindness. If what goes around comes around, she ought to be rewarded with something mighty good.
"Well, usually one purchases Pokémon-related products at the Poké Marts located in each major town and city. But..." Her hand reached down to her belt again, replacing Haru's Nest Ball and pulling out a Poké Ball with yet another design. This one was green-colored with brown dots on the front. "This one's on me." She handed it out to March. "It's a Friend Ball. Capturing a Pokémon with it will help it warm up to you faster."

As she handed March the new Poke ball, Alistar looked back. "Hmmm..." He thought. "How come I don't have one of those?" This time March began to study Rainbow. While he wasn't looking, Alistar stuck his tongue out at March, since he wasn't looking, but he wasn't sure if Rainbow or someone else saw. She gave him a friend ball. Alistar assumed the name gave away its specific ability. Alistar managed to get Wurm's full trust through years of being together not some artificial capsule.
Wurm looked at the Eevee. It seemed insecure of everyone except its master. Maybe it was because this Eevee was so... shiny? Wurm studied the Pokemon as Alistar studied the trainers. He crawled towards a hallway. Wurm looked down, and saw and open door with a small bed with the Larvitar from before sleeping in it. That must of been the mean guy's Larvitar. Wurm began to crawl down the hall. About half way there before he was finally found by a Chansey walking down the hall. "Chancey!" She startled Wurm, who began to turn around the hall and attempted to run away, but was easily caught. The Chansey carried the curious Pokemon over to Alistar. "Oh... uh... sorry... heh heh." Alistar murmered to the Chansey. She handed him Wurm, Alistar pouted at his Pokemon. "Dude," He whispered to his companion, "don't make me look bad or we'll both look bad, ok?" "Wurm!" Wurm complied.
Alistar went into his bag, and grabbed a small wallet. He opened it, and checked to make sure all 1000 Poke was in the wallet. He looked at a picture of his parents he kept in his wallet. He took it out, and crumpled it, and threw it on the floor. "Speaking of Poke Marts, I need to grab some supplies. I say we give March a little tour of the Poke Mart." Alistar grinned.

[OOC: Wow, dude, way to make me seem like a douche or something. XP Rainbow helped my charrie out. Yours attacked an innocent bowl of oatmeal. It never even had a chance. Who is my character gonna trust? Also, way to dictate my actions >.<]
As the young girl spoke about her pokemon and it's unusual coloring, he noiced something familiar in her eyes and in her tone. What was it? Regret? Pain?
Lonliness?
Maybe Nick was just projecting.
Nick took the ball from the girl. He pushed the button on the front and it opened up. He inspected the inside of the device. "So people carry pokemon in here? It's so small." Then something Rainbow had said seemed to register. "You said 'capture', right? LAs in, against a pokemons will? Is that...alright?" Nick thought of poachers and thieves and felt uneasy. "And how do they work? Should I just...errr, ask a pokemon to climb in or something?" Nick felt more and more lost by the minute.
When she told Nick he could keep the Friend Ball, nick looked at her in surprise. Why did she want to help him out so much? It wasn't like he had much in the way of expertise or valuables. And she was certainly being friendlier than the other kid, Alistar, was being. He seemed to be acting a little snide, like he thought he was better than Nick for knowing more, or something.Nick wondered what his deal was, but resolved to keep an eye on him.
Just then, Nurse Joy returned. "Oh, I see you're all up. Well, I'm sure you'll be glad to hear that Larvitar has made a full recovery. Would you like to see him now?"
"Oh, uhm..." Nick glanced at the other two, then down at the ball he was holding, unsure of what to do.

Luckly, depending on how one looked at the situation anyway, Rainbow did not notice Alistar's childish act.
"Don't get too excited, though. Although it does help calm a Pokémon if it is frightened or aid in the warming up process, it won't make the Pokémon be friends with you. That kind of manipulation is impossible. Not to mention immoral for obvious reasons."
The colorful Trainer could not help but giggle as March curiously inspected the spherical device. "Yes, we do. And yes, it is. That's the convenience of it. You can also click that button to make the Poké Ball even smaller. Observe." Rainbow took the Nest Ball back out and clicked the center button, expanding it. "Haru, return."
A red beam of light, that to Rainbow tasted like cherries, shot out of the center button of the sphere. It turned Haru into an Eevee-shaped red light matching the beam. Haru's form, along with the rest of the light, was drawn back into the device. The scent of roses and the sound of the babbling brook that Rainbow was rather enjoying disappeared with him. She then tapped the center button again, shrinking the Poké Ball to its portable size.
Hearing his concerns about Pokémon capture, Rainbow shook her head. "It depends. Usually, no. Even if a Pokémon has fainted, it can still choose to break out of a Poké Ball once it has been encased. Escape becomes more difficult the stronger the Poké Ball for that particular Pokémon. Like, a Net Ball is more likely to capture a Bug- or Water-type than anything else."
She saw the uneasiness in his eyes and tried to think of a better way to explain. It was so weird, though. All these things he asked were questions she practically grew up already knowing the answers to and never gave a second thought. They all lived in a Pokémon world. So, where had this guy been hiding from the millions of Pokémon and their Trainers his whole life?
"Listen, it's not a big deal. If a Pokémon really doesn't want to be captured, it will most likely pop out of the ball. At that point, a Trainer can try again or give up. Often times the Pokémon escapes before the Trainer can even do either of those. Or if it is captured, as with a Master Ball there is no choice in the matter, a Trainer can always release a Pokémon back into the wild at will."
At his last question, she said, "Well, it's more fun to see a capture in progress as a way to learn, but we don't really have that option at the moment. Basically, a Trainer tends to use a Pokémon he or she already has to weaken the desired one. After that, a Ball is thrown at it and the Pokémon is gathered as the red light like I just showed you. Then, depending on the Pokémon, the Ball will usually kind of.... twitch... either several times or not at all before going still-- a capture-- or popping open and releasing the creature back out-- a failed attempt."
Rainbow took this opportunity to take a deep breath. This certainly was a lot to cover first thing in the morning. She hoped he was going to remember at least most of it. Of course it wasn't a problem to help out, really. It would just be a shame and feel like such a waste of time if he wasn't able to follow. Yet by the way he looked so intrigued and kept asking questions, it showed he was interested and therefore probably commiting a lot of what she said to memory.
"However," she continued, "It is also technically unnecessary to battle in order to complete a successful capture. Though it isn't tradition that makes it such a typical step. Most wild Pokémon want to fight first. For them, it is kind of like a test to measure how good of a Trainer you are and help them decide if they want to escape that Poké Ball once it has been thrown at them."
"That said," Rainbow went on after another deep breath, "it is still technically unnecessary if, by chance, the Pokémon did not want to battle. As long as it bumps the center button and allows the capture to take place, then it'll be fine. Something along those lines is how Haru joined me."
Whilst all this teaching took place, the Trainer did not notice the Wurmple wander off. Not that she would have blamed it for doing so. For someone who knew all about these basics, such a lesson had to be less than thrilling. Her sky blue eyes returned their attention to him and his Trainer once the Chansey came back with it. Rainbow chose not to say anything as Alistar tore up a photograph and tossed it. Even though inside she was screaming, "LITTER BUG! Pick up your carp! Nurse Joy doesn't want it all over her nice, spotless floor!"
Alistar's suggestion, however, was well-received. "That's a great idea," she told him with a nod and a small smile. "We'll capture three Pidgey with one Ball. I actually need to pick up some supplies as well."
Nurse Joy appeared shortly afterward, announcing Larvitar's now perfect health. Rainbow smiled at her and at March who was already looking their way. "Wonderful. Go on and see it. We'll wait here for you both." Her hands came up and brushed the air in a "shoo" gesture.

(My apologies, I thought it would be funny if Alistar and March didn't start off in good graces. It adds to the plot, and I thought it was an interesting idea. And that oatmeal had it coming. X) )
"Great." Alistar smirked. "I guess it would make sense to get a few Pokeballs."
Alistar took a look at Wurm. Wurm didn't actually HAVE a pokeball to be held in. Call it an amateur mistake, but Alistar has never technically been in a Poke mart. Alistar was at the same experience level as March when it came to being a trainer, the only difference being Alistar has had Wurm for a few years, where as March seemed to meet Larvitar recently.
As he sat in thought, March followed Nurse Joy down the hall to visit the now healthy Larvitar. Wurm attempted to look above the couch and see them walk, only to be pulled down by Alistar. "Wurmple...." Wurm murmured. "Whats the matter?" Alistar asked his companion. It seemed Wurm wanted to see the Larvitar for some reason. He thought, until Alistar figured out Wurm's reasoning. "Ohhh, I get it." Alistar said in realization. "You wanna meet Larvitar to see if you can make a new friend, right?" Wurm simply looked at his master, only to add a slight unsure nod after a few seconds.
Alistar looked blankly as well. Until finally, Alistar gave up on trying to asses the situation. "Man, your impossible." Alistar groaned. "Chansey!" Alistar heard from behind him. He turned to see Chansey looking at the crumpled photograph Alistar had tossed. "Oh.... right....." Alistar timidly grinned. "I'll just go throw that away..." He rose, grabbed the trash, and walked to the garbage pail. As he dropped it in, he released a small, awkward sigh.
Who was he trying to fool? He was off in the unknown, with almost no money, and surrounded by strangers who weren't his biggest fans. His only companion was his Pokemon, who he brought into this whole mess. "What am I gonna do?" Alistar said to himself. He turned to Wurm, who this time, was studying Rainbow. Not like before with March, who he only disliked to the bad impression he and Alistar shared, but as if it was a fair stare. He returned to the couch. This was gonna be a long day.

( Tell that to the oatmeals wife and kids! You monster!)
With n oother course of action before him, Nick wandered down the hall towards one of the rooms. As he entered the one where Larvitar had been recovering, he saw the baby pokemon sit up and look at him. It looked shyly at him, but he also saw recognition in its eyes. It remembered him from the journey.
Nick moved closer, slowly, while taking in its features: Green, rocky skin, a red belly and a horn-like protrusionon top of its head. Its red eyes never left him as he moved closer.
"So." Nick started, lamely. He was rather uncomfortable, as he didn't know what to do now that he was here. Larvitar didn't seem much more at ease. "I guess you're feeling better, then?" Larvitars only reply was to keep staring at him. "I figure you've got nowhere else to go, then? Would you....uhmm, like to come with me, then?"
Suddenly the Larvitar lunged at Nick, who caught completely off guard, stumbled backwards and tripped over the bed behind him with a loud crash. When he opened his eyes, the Larvitar was latched onto his front, hugging him. "Lar! Lar!" It cried at him. "Ok, I'll take that as a yes!" Nick was pleasantly surprised. "I guess you just push the button on this thing?" Nick said as he brought out the friend ball. Larvitar looked at him curiously. Nick shrugged and held it out to larvitar, who sniffed it. Then Larvitar pushed the button on the center, and red light enveloped him, which quickly retreated into the ball, along with Larvitar. "I guess that's all there is to it, huh?" Nick said aloud. He tossed the pokeball up in the air, and Out came Larvitar, looking fine.

With their following destination seemingly settled, Rainbow watched as March walked down the hallway to see the Larvitar. She hoped that all would go well with the meeting. From what the young man had said about their ordeal, the little guy had been through a lot. It probably needed March to take care of it now as both a friend and a Trainer.
Once March turned into the recovery room, she pivoted to see Alistar's Wurmple regarding her with rather inquisitive eyes. "Um, hello," she said with a tiny wave before sitting back down on the couch.
Her attention shifted to the sky outside, the color of which was now the same as her eyes and brought about the scent of freshly cleaned linen. Time certainly was flying by. It seemed like mere moments ago the sun was peeking over the horizon. Now it was clearly above that line. Rainbow would have to estimate the time at being around eight.
"Looks like it will be a lovely day today," Rainbow stated so they were not sitting in an awkward silence. Even though she had spoken to Alistar, her focus remained on the outdoors for a moment longer before her head rotated to the right, stopping at the Trainer around her own age and his Wurmple.

[Sorry for taking so long, being grounded off an on, and such, well Oath is back no worries ] "Yeah, I suppose it does look nice." Alistar said slowly following Rainbow's gaze toward the window. Today was the first day of the rest of his life. The clouds drifted slowly not having anywhere to be, the life he always wanted. The life he just received. He finally noticed she was looking at him. A little surprised, Alistar returned the look, taking time to read her personality, but not making it long enough to notice... he hoped. "So..." Alistar began, "I guess since were gonna be hanging out for awhile... I guess nows better than ever to tell you a bit about myself." Wurm's eyes never left Rainbow. He was curious. Wurm had never met a female besides master's mother. His master seemed to avoid them... like he was scared of them, but Wurm didn't think so, after all, he believed his master feared nothing. Wurm crawled over to her leg, and sniffed a little. She smelled.... colorful? "Wurm!!" Alistar said as he grabbed his companion. He placed Wurm on his lap. "Wurmple...." He said in sadness. Maybe master wanted to smell her first? "As I was saying..." Alistar continued, "todays my first day for this little Pokemon journey.... dad kicked me out yesterday. I'm dissowned." He stopped. He pondered what he would say next. "Not trying to make a sob story, but he kicked me out without a second thought, which makes me my own lifeline." Wurm's eyes turned to Alistar, as he listened to their past together. "Wurm!" Wurm insisted. "All right! All right!" Alistar responded, "I was getting to it! I found Wurm when I was a kid. He was 'bout half dead.... almost Taillow chow 'till I scared them off. Took care of 'em since." Alistar looked at her... waiting for any kind of feedback. "Your turn." He said, smirking.

Nick was uncomfortable; he'd never really interacted with other people like this before. "Uhm, obviously I've never had anything to do with pokemon before, so I really don't know what I'm doing. As for my history...my family's....away." Nick shifted uncomfortably.
