The information below will tell you all you need to know about Pokémon leveling and how you go about it.
1. For every Pokémon battle you win within a 5 level range of your opponent, you get 2 levels. {This means 2 in all.}
2. If your opponent is 6 levels and below your level and you win, you gain 1 level. {This means 1 in all.}
3. If your opponent is 6 levels and above your level and you win, you gain 3 levels. {This means 3 in all.}
4. In the case of draws, each Pokémon will be treated as though it had won the battle.
5. One more important thing is that if your Pokémon demonstrates outstanding battling skills, and you loose, you may be awarded 1 level for giving us an outstanding battle. (This is only for the people who give us a fantastic roleplay.)
6. EVERY BATTLE WILL BE LOOKED AT BY A STAFF MEMBER AND THEY WILL TELL YOU HOW MANY LEVELS YOU RECEIVE.
Rare Candies Of course, if you obtain Rare Candies, you may feed those to your Pokémon to level them up by 1.

Those of you that play the Pokémon games know that Pokémon can only make one move per turn. However, I've warped it slightly to make it more interesting.
I. Deal Damage. You may choose to use a so-called 'damaging' attack on your opponent. These attacks are either direct or indirect, and you may only use ONE per turn. Examples of these kinds of attacks are Tackle, Quick Attack, and things like Ice Beam and Flamethrower.
II. Shield and Heal. This category includes attacks like Recover, Protect, Detect, etc. You may use ONE of these per turn, to a maximum of three times per battle. Note that Recover and Protect are one-Pokemon use only (meaning you cannot use Recover on another Pokémon to heal it.)
III. Items Are a Trainer's Best Friend. If you choose to do so, you may use up a turn to employ an item in the midst of a battle. These include things like Potions, Revives, Full Heals, and Stat Boosters. Of course, it's ONE item per turn, and you completely forfeit your ability to attack during this turn if you choose to use an item.
IV. Avoid and Retaliate. If you have to, you may have your Pokémon dodge one attack, and then strike back with a move of its own. Don't overdo it, though. This is all about creativity. Any Pokémon can successfully dodge up to THREE times before being hit. Overuse of this ability will be frowned upon and may result in suspension.
V. Ye Olde Switcheroo and Do. You may withdraw your active Pokémon (whether they are fainted or not), bring in another, AND let the new Pokémon attack. However, excessive switching is considered cheating, and it will not earn you levels.
As you can see, a Pokémon battle can become exciting and fun just by employing a few of these tactics. You can even raise your Pokémon to become a strategist if you will.
Note: Because there are so many different ways to battle there should be no reason to use the same move over and over. Doing such will result in a warning. Continuation of the act will lead to a staff member altering your post with a move THEY choose your Pokémon to use.
