He didn't know where to begin. -Umbreon, Lv.45! SA: Synchronize- Pokemon trainers were alloted a certain amount of grief if a pokemon passed away or somehow tragically met its. A subject not covered much by many for certain, since hearts felt a bitter taste when such stories were brought up in public or even among friends. It would never end up in any television episode unless the Poketime or Pokygen networks decided to air a type of movie to pull at the heartstrings of female trainers everywhere. Yet now in Eterna Fotrest a lone Umbreon looked at the deceased body of who had once been his trainer. Knowing the circumstances which led up to this current state of events let out waves of angst brought on by mourning. No one talked about what a pokemon went through if their trainer were ever lost to the great beyond before what many would call his or her time. . . never ever. Future dreams, goals of this person were never going to get carried out whether it might have been to become a pokemon master or just win enough battles to retire into a nice quiet life. Never. Ever. Up until now the young lady had only one pokemon which had been evolved from one of the rather rare Eevee pokemon. She had recieved the Eevee while attending the Ranger school, as part of deal she regretted until her dying breath. Once the girl had aspired to become a pokemon ranger, however a prolonged course with Mr. Kincaid led her down the wrong path. Promising a chance of graduating earlier on than other students due to her qualities hinting toward the makings of a great pokemon ranger, she found herself waist deep in trouble before the semester ended. Kincaid used this promise of advancement to lure her into joining Team Dim Sun, a dark organization that followed somewhat in the footsteps of the many other Teams jockeying for control over the world. Cuthroats like the members of Team Dim Sun were willing to kill, to turn pokemon into soulless fighting machines which all possessed a relatively unseeable dark aura. Machines played a part in this artificial process along with a mystical crystal. Her pokemon was one of these: a shadow pokemon. Possibly so-called since some might say that fighting with emotions shut off turned it into a shadow of its former self. For some time she tried to ignore those around her in hopes that it would be all over soon so that her early graduation could occur. But soon she found out the real truth, and tried to leave. Fate let her escape the group, to ditch the uniform which showed her alligance to such a group. Days passed without discrimination for months while she became practically nocturnal to help herself evade those tracking the girl down since she knew the identity of Kincaid. Loose ends like her were not preferrable if they could expose such a high ranking member of the Team. . . if the authorities could truly take him down. But in spite of the horrible conditions she battled the wild pokemon and trainers alike to keep a low profile yet still survive. After all the young woman had ranger training backing her at this point. Plus the additional training, though minimal, from team Dim Sun. Through it all she tried to never let the Eevee become unhappy however. . . which led to a night when it became a rather distinguished male Umbreon due to having once been a Shadow pokemon. She even taught it a few HM's to acentuate the pokemon's dangerous looking yet secretly sweet nature. Level by level the pokemon which once had the door to its heart shut off now lived freely with a dedicated master who battle to survive while on a quest to escape the Almia region. The fact she had successfully reached the Sinnoh region and vanished this far into a forest paid testament to her skill at evasion. Unfortunately it turned out to be all for not as they eventually caught up with her somehow, shooting the young lady right after purposefully releasing her Umbreon. It fought off the fiends with terrifying tenacity up until they retreated from the might of it's well chosen moves list. Death pervaded the air as a foul stench, driving away most of the pokemon within a short radius who naturally might try to help this destroyed duo. If a pokemon felt no revulsion at the smell or sight, a rather threatening pokemon stood guard over the corpse. One from which a poisonous sweat was released if they came too close, explaining why if anyone wanted to help. . .they did not. Her body did not have many possessions left on it save for clothing and Ranger School memorabilia in her backpack. Standing guard even now. . . a regression had begun and completed to its Shadoe pokemon state. For once the anger had worn off, the grief he felt was overwhelming for the pokemon. As a result it decided to shut the door to its heart once more and become a soulless fighting machine dangerous not only to potentisl enemies. . .but to everything else.

Trace and his pokemon suddenly awaken at the camp sight. He slowly sat up and looked around, it was early morring as the sky was every so softly hinting towards the time of dawn. The camp fire long sence gone out he saw to his left Gavin still sleeping. He then felt something as did his pokemon that had been sleeping all around him. They all felt something, how every Trace and Mika knew this feeling that was in the air. pure sadness.
Trace then quietly got up and stretched then looked around, this feeling came for the southeast. Trace and his pokemon walked for what seemed like a half a mile til they came upon something, it looked like a boot, a girls boot he pick it up and looked at it then looked at the ground and found foot prints that didn't match the boot he had in his hand. Thou going by his gut he flowed the tracks til he came upon at girl that was flat on her face. Trace then rushed over to her to see if she was ok, then he he flipped her over he saw....she was dead, "Two in the chest and one in the head, she didn't just die, she was executed, poor girl." he said with a sigh.
Trace then ever so kindly search though the body respectively finding that she had no pokemon on her and a empty pokeball in her hand, "Poor girl, someone wanted your pokemon but you set it free first." he stated kindly. he then found a pokemon ranger trainee tag that was around her neck with a name a place on it, "Almia? your a along away from home, that could have happened that make you run from your homeland?" he spoke softly to the body then started to rub dirt off where the name was on the tag.
mean while this four pokemon were behind him keeping watch just in case something should suddenly pop out behind there master.

Claire Bluemeadow[/i] Her name came from the strange grass her family grew down through the generations up to this very day. It served as an herbal remedy only availble in the Almia region. But for Trace to simply walk up and start medling with a corpse showed a rather low reverance for the dead in the opinion of anyone who did not know him. Especially one without any emotions. Touching his master again? Never, ever. . . Glowing rings of a golden hue gave away any stealth possessed by the Umbreon as it came out of the brush at the best possible angle of attack. Not so much to attack Trace, but his all of his pokemon which the Trainer had foolishly once again left out of their pokeballs. It was a mistake he would pay for right now, hopefully to the point that it taught him to never act so carelessly again. Watched over by four female pokemon. . . that meant absolutely nothing to this dark opponent. Darker even than Gavin's Absol might ever behave. -Umbreon, Lv.45! SA: Synchronize- Shadow Umbreon used Toxic!!

As Trace looked at the ranger trainee tag he suddenly smelt something vile then noticed it was toxic. Thou he not knew where it came from he quickly dashed over to his pokemon with jolteon speed and covered them with his jacket, taking the attack himself. Knowing that this kind of poison is not meant for human but pokemon, he should live, however be very sick as some of the poison to into his lungs.
Once the attack was finish Trace fell too all fours coughing his lungs out and threw up twice. His lungs burned and his eyes blurred but his pokemon seemed to be ok, how ever he felt like carp. Even so he still stood up not knowing what make the attack he closed his eye sence they weren't much use at the moment, "Everyone, on guard, something out here is mad." he ordered. They all nodded then got around there master ready for another attack.

-Umbreon, Lv.45! SA: Synchronize- The initially intended targets were not harmed yet their Trainer was. . . an interesting show of compassion for pokemon. Yet it did not matter in the least to this emotionless Shadow pokemon, not even thinking a sarcastic thought. All emotions shut off meant every single last one of them. . . even the sinister or evil ones. A battle was all this situation represented, to guard the corpse of the one who had released him so that he may live while she died afte all the effort to escape. Plus how did he even DO such a feat? He had to get up and run over to his pokemon, take off his jacket, then he had to huddle his pokemon together and put them under the jacket. And consider this as well. . .how did a jacket that barely qualifies as loose-fitting on a skinny-bass guy like him cover: a Lopunny, a Pichu, a Glaceon, and a Kirlia? Not even the Lopunny alone could possibly fit under such a jacket. . . someone was fabricated the laws of physics beyond the stretching point. Something not even The Unstoppable Trace could pull off. Therefore three of them should have ALREADY been poisoned at this point regardless. But just in case anything was missed in stating the truth, the Umbreon who could care less about Archon's physical state attacked once more to guarantee their combined fate. At this point he could choose between admitting three were poisioned from the first attack, or having all four now become poisioned since none of them were protected in any way at all as of yet. Shadow Umbreon used Toxic!!

Trace waited for the next attack, and again started to smell toxic again. Trace then turned his head to looked at his Kirlia, "Umai, use telaport you and the other out of her and come out in a minute." he ordered.
Umai nodded, "Kirlia!" she said then did what her master commanded and the four left there master alone before they could say anything against it.
Trace covered his mouth with his hand a jacket which helped but not by much and still had his eyes closed not wanting them to get any worse. Trace knew he was getting attack by another pokemon but which one was good as guess as any. Trace then pulled his knife out to defend himself.

-Umbreon, Lv.45! SA: Synchronize- Sending away all his pokemon only o pull out a knife? Brave hero, vailant knight, and a legendary ranger in the making for certain. Or not. What kind of a man was this Trainer who had still yet to move completely out of the area where his former Trainer now laid unburied. Once he had frightened off this person, perhaps Umbreon would have dug her a grave to prevent any further human meddling. If it still had any real feelings. But instead the pokemon finally came out into the open with the golden rings glowing slightly. Even with his eyes damaged by the toxins, Trace just might see the glow through the posion haze which was his reward for treating himself like a pokemon & his pokemon like people. Prowling toward the Human, did Umbreon know his eyes were naturally red like his own? An even greater question might portain to whether or not Archon would see the mysterious Shadow Aura swirling about the Shadow pokemon which went largely unseen to many. Still, Umbreon needed to attack this intruder!!! Shadow Umbreon used Assurance!!

Upon the attack Trace started to feel even worse then felt to one knee coughing more and his eyes stinging like heck. Trace then reached into his jacket then pulled out a water bottle and opened his eyes and flushed his eyes out with all of the water.
While doing that Trace sence something dark to his left just as he finished up using the water then blinked his eyes about five times and the blur started to go away. He then looked to his left and even thou his vision wasn't a hundred percent just yet he happen to see the glowing rings in shrouded buy a black aura.
Trace raised a eye brow, "What the heck? Is that a Umbreon?" he stated to himself knowing how the rings were place due to his mother was a nurse and brought her work home with her Trace did knew a great deal about pokemon, even so, he had no clue what this shadowy aura was about.
Trace still coughing stood back up and placed his footing to get ready to attack or defend himself, what ever came first.

-Umbreon, Lv.45! SA: Synchronize- What a "KINGHT"[/u], only a good person would use a knife on a wild pokemon. Obviously he had the makings of a future hero if he kept up this type of approach to pokemon battles. But the Umbreon would not back down until Trace left the immediate area of the corpse. A soulless fighting machine could take anything this Trainer without morals or even basic battle etiquitte. Respectable opponents would use their pokemon, not teleport them away and attempt to fight themselves. It was an insanity with no method to the madness. Merely a fool with many tools of foolishness. He would have to change tactics if he expected victory. Shadow Umbreon used Assurance!

Trace suddenly fell to the one knee again coughing more and more to the point a little bit a blood started to come out. He the was sure of it now, he was getting hit by Assurance, which it was a dark type attack and to go along with the glowing rings he was but against a Umbreon of some kind.
Knowing this he sheathed his knife then kept his eye on the rings and shadow. It was at this point that a minute had pass and his four pokemon had reappeared. Thou Sparky Mika and Umai where poison even so, it wouldn't stop them from fighting and as for Kori, she manage to not got hit by the toxic some how as she was fine.
The four of them ran to there master's side and about to chew him out on sending them away to protect them when the pokemon should be protecting there master. But before they got a word out Trace pointed at the glowing rings, "Mika, use foresight, over there." he ordered.
"Lopunny."
Mika then turn her head at that area and a red stream of light shot out from her eyes onto the rings. Soon after the Umbreon became visible to Trace and this other pokemon.
Trace slowly stood up and cough once more, and recalled all of them but Mika "Mika use Shadow Ball." he ordered.
"Looopunny!!!" she fired a Shadow Ball at the Umbreon.

-Umbreon, Lv.45! SA: Synchronize- Due to the use of Foresight, which was a surprise considering who the trainer was behind the move, Umbreon could not dodge the Shadow Ball attack. It took the hit in stride however, Shadow Pokemon had the strength of no emotions. . .no feelings. Some might call it a weakness but they would require the foresight to expose it as such if they had the capacity for such a task. To say the least, one would be hard-pressed to find leverage on the Shadow Umbreon that Archon now faced in battle. Shadow Umbreon used Torment! That would prevent another Shadow Ball for another turn or so. . . even if it could not feel the pain very much. . . damage still happened. Even a soulless fighting machine saw no point in taking needless damage which would inevitably lead to a defeat if it kept on happening. And since its opponent chose to use a non-damaging and then daaging move, it would return the favor on a rather simple yet effective level. Shadow Umbreon used Confuse Ray!

Trace's eyes were now ok, he could see clearly now and saw how fast the Umbreon moved and attack as both attacks hit Mika. Trace looked at her but he was able to sence the shadow area some how, one could only guess why, "Mika, calm down and sit on the ground." he state. But nothing got through as she was very confused and poisoned as well.
Trace rolled his eyes, "Mika return." he said and the red beam connected with the lopunny and into the pokeball. Doing this will stop the pokemon from being confused.
Trace then pulled out another pokeball and out came Umai. Trace turned to his right and pointed at the Umbreon, "Umai, use Confusion." he stated.
She nodded then put her hands together and her eyes glowed purple, "Kirlia!". Umai used Confusion.

-Umbreon, Lv.45! SA: Synchronize- Lucky for Umai, the attack actually struck her opponent which pushed him down against the ground with a somewhat crushing force. However they were both about to discover it took more than one Shadow Ball and a Confusion attack to bring this Shadow Pokemon down. Rising up from the ground, the pokemon successfully shook off the disoreintation of the sudden movement to shoot a blank look at the two. It was not a move of any sort, just an empty stare like one gazing into the soulless beauty of a ruby. I'll succeed as you breathe your very last breath. . .One might swear those emotionless eyes held that message, a cold one for certain. It had every intention to survive this battle and continue on to guard the corpse until it rotted away or buried. No pokeball would change that, for even though the emotions were gone. . .it still had memories. And for some, not even the steady erosion of time could cause those to fade away if the scars of the past were deep enough. No confusion had taken a hold of him either, leaving no obstacles between the objective of victory and carrying out that simple yet easily complicated goal. Shadow Umbreon used Pursuit!!

Other then the poison that affected her somewhat some thing seemed to hit her yet not it her as it only made her feel a little weaker then before, even so she kept standing.
Trace looked at Umai as seeing that she was ok for the most part he kept her out and kept his eyes on the target, but why was this Umbreon fighting so hard, and what made it turn into this never before seen shadow?
Putting that thought to she side Trace needed to calm it down or just tire it out, which show that was easier said then done. Trace then again pointed at the shadow Umbreon, "Telaport right in front of the Umbreon then use Magical Left." he ordered.
"Kir." she nodded then disappeared and reappeared right infront of the Umbreon and unleashed a storm of white glowing leafs point blank range.

-Umbreon, Lv.45! SA: Synchronize- Struck by a magical direction? How did that work? Regardless the Shadow Umbreon was struck by Magical Leaf since it was an attack that could never be dodged in the first place. So why even have the pokemon teleport? It seemed rathere redundant to a trainer who knew the moves well enough, but that didn't matter. Perhaps it showed that these intruders where his trainer had died were afraid of what they could not fully understand. After all to many the Shadowy aura gave an definitive unnerving feeling to most. Yet Trace's overkill on accuracy had provided some useful means. During the time it took to teleport since it already knew the moves in action, aniticipating them turned into a breeze. Just as the opponent teleported in front of him a counter-move was begun in the middle of it taking damage. Umbreon used Faint Attack!
